As an Atlanta Spanish tutor offering private online Spanish lessons, I help adult learners develop real conversational fluency through highly individualized instructions in personalized 1-on-1 Spanish lessons.
¡Hola! Me llamo Seth Mason.
I’m a bilingual Spanish language professional who has spent more than three decades bridging the gap between English-speaking and Spanish-speaking communities throughout the Southeastern United States.
For more than one of those decades, I’ve been teaching adults how to become fluent Spanish speakers through highly individualized private Spanish tutoring that employs a teaching methodology based on students’ goals and learning styles. Now, I’m expanding my services to Metro Atlanta, where I’ve maintained a strong connection with the region’s Latino community since the early 2000s.
More than a decade of experience teaching adults one-on-one
Unique methodology personalized for each student based on goals and challenges
Degree in Spanish and M.B.A. from the University of Georgia
Immersed in Spanish-speaking cultures since 1998
Education background; adept at making complex grammar easy to understand
I work with adults who want to develop fluency in Spanish for practical, real-world reasons. Some students need Spanish for their professions; others are preparing to live abroad or travel extensively in Spanish-speaking countries. Most enjoy the intellectual challenge of mastering a new language.
Many students work in fields such as healthcare, construction, real estate, or law and interact regularly with Spanish-speaking colleagues, clients, or employees.
Through private Spanish tutoring and 1-on-1 Spanish lessons, they develop the ability to communicate clearly and confidently in real-world professional situations.
Dr. Callah West studies Spanish to communicate more effectively with Spanish-speaking patients.
Homebuilder Jonathan Ghant takes Spanish lessons for his construction business.
Some students divide their time between the United States and Spanish-speaking countries or plan to spend extended time living abroad.
Private online Spanish lessons allow them to build language skills consistently while preparing for life in another country.
John Winarchick, former CEO of Zeus Industrial, and his wife, Janine Belanger, study Spanish because they spend half the year living in Barcelona.
Other students study Spanish because they want to travel more comfortably and interact more naturally with the people and cultures they encounter.
Through 1-on-1 Spanish lessons, they gain the conversational confidence needed to handle travel experiences more independently.
Harrison Creason studies Spanish for extensive travel throughout Spanish-speaking countries.
For many students, learning Spanish is simply something they have always wanted to do.
They enjoy the intellectual challenge of mastering a new language and the deeper cultural understanding that comes with it.
Bill Maddox, former Managing Director of Greystar Real Estate Partners, studies Spanish for personal intellectual development.
Students hire me because my lessons are highly individualized.
I tailor each class around why the student is learning Spanish, and I concentrate heavily on the areas where the student needs the most improvement.
Students come to me with different motivations for learning Spanish: advancing their careers, preparing to live abroad, traveling more comfortably, or simply continuing their intellectual development.
That’s why I tailor each lesson to the student’s goals and learning style.
Because I learned Spanish as an English speaker myself, I understand WHAT English speakers struggle with when learning Spanish, WHY those difficulties occur, and HOW to overcome them.
My perspective as a non-native speaker who became fluent is a significant advantage for students. I understand which explanations work, which exercises produce results, and which habits maximize retention.
The objective is always the same: turning non-native speakers into fluent, confident Spanish speakers who communicate naturally in real-world situations.
Over more than a decade of giving private Spanish tutoring and 1-on-1 Spanish lessons, I’ve refined a teaching methodology that focuses on:
During each lesson, I use the Google Meet chat as a working whiteboard.
Students receive personalized notes and homework after every lesson.
As we talk, I type corrections, vocabulary, and explanations so students see in real time exactly how the Spanish language works. That way, they learn grammar, sentence structure, and word choice simultaneously.
At the end of each session, I copy the notes from the chat, organize them, and send them to the student along with customized homework based on what we learned that day.
Students appreciate this system because it gives them a clear written record of each class and allows them to continue improving between lessons. This structured approach is one of the reasons many adult learners find private online Spanish lessons more effective than traditional classroom instruction.
Seth is an excellent teacher with a very practical approach that helps you start using Spanish right away. Vocabulary is always taught in useful sentence structures, which makes it easier to remember and apply. Each session builds on the last, and I’ve seen real improvement over time. Makes learning feel accessible and not intimidating.
I contacted Seth six months ago when I decided to get serious about learning Spanish vs. trying to grasp the language via apps. I am so glad that I did. His teaching methods for reinforcing Spanish grammar rules, expanding vocabulary, and improving pronunciation are giving me the foundation to understand the nuances of the Spanish language and to enjoy learning them – even the verb conjugations! He is knowledgeable and patient, and the virtual sessions make the learning accessible at all times.
Seth is my Spanish tutor and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Seth is a knowledgeable, understanding and well-prepared instructor. His lessons guide me through the rules of Spanish, so I’m not simply memorizing words and phrases, but learning why sentences are constructed as they are. He teaches “best practices” so I understand the words, phrases and pronunciations that are appropriate in the country and in the circumstances where I use Spanish. He makes the learning process fun, and the on-line class set-up is super convenient. I highly recommend Seth as an instructor.
– John Winarchick
I have really enjoyed my sessions with Seth. He is fantastic and his teaching method is perfect for me. Seth is teaching me the fundamentals of the language which makes adding pieces much easier. Seth gets very high marks from me.
– Bill Maddux
After trying a few language apps, I reached out to Seth for lessons. He has been a great teacher and helped me learn a lot more than any app could. I have spent almost a year learning with Seth and he has helped me develop an in-depth understanding of concepts, while pushing me to grow confidence in speaking. I really appreciate his patience and teaching ability/style which only comes with years of experience.
– Matthew Zoss
I started studying Spanish with Seth because I enjoy traveling to Spanish speaking countries, and I wanted to feel more confident speaking the language. I learned more Spanish with him in 5 months than in the 4 years I took during high school. He met me where I was, made the sessions enjoyable, was extremely flexible, and gave me weekly practice questions. Anyone looking to sharpen their knowledge of Spanish would be doing themselves a favor by hiring Seth as their tutor.

My approach to teaching Spanish is distinct from that of most Spanish tutors in Atlanta. As a highly-educated Spanish speaker who learned the language as a non-native speaker, just as my students are learning it, I understand the challenges English speakers face and how to explain the language in ways that make sense.
My experience with Spanish spans more than three decades. I began studying the language academically in eighth grade, later earned a degree in Spanish, and have spent many years using the language professionally while living and traveling extensively throughout Latin America. I also come from a family of educators, and teaching is in my genes. I’m particularly skilled at making complex concepts (like grammar) clear and easy to understand.
Since 2015, I’ve been teaching adults one-on-one and developing a personalized teaching methodology designed specifically for adult learners. Each lesson is structured around why the student is learning Spanish, the areas where they need the most improvement, and the learning style that helps them absorb the language most effectively.
The combination of academic training, real-world language experience, and years of teaching Spanish to adults allows me to help students make steady, meaningful progress toward fluency.
Each lesson lasts 60 minutes and is conducted online using Google Meet.
During our conversations, I use the chat as a working whiteboard. As we talk, I type corrections, vocabulary, and explanations so students can see in real time exactly how the Spanish language works.
After each lesson, I organize the notes from the chat and send them to the student along with personalized homework based on the areas where they need the most practice.
This system gives students a clear written record of every lesson and allows them to continue improving between sessions.
Up to two students can attend lessons for the same price.
Studying with a spouse, friend, or colleague is often advantageous because pairs often split the cost, motivate each other, and practice together. Two students can join the sessions from the same location on the same device or from different locations on separate devices.
My Spanish tutoring is likely a little more expensive than lessons from other Spanish teachers in Atlanta. I offer a premium service for students who are serious about learning the Spanish language.
If you’re serious about becoming fluent in Spanish, I offer private Spanish lessons designed specifically for YOU.
Lessons are conducted virtually, making it easy to learn from anywhere in Metro Atlanta.
